Any day now....
It's that time. At any moment now my wife can go into labor. My flesh hates this part, the waiting, the feeling that you have to be able to drop everything and go to the hospital at any time...but on the other hand, it is awesome to have our utter dependency upon God be made so clear. Our four year old daughter can't wait...at least until Ian actually gets here (Thats our sons name Ian Alexander) she really needs a sibling. She tries, but it can be very hard to practice sharing and selflessness when you are an only child. This will be good for her.

Lee,
Just to be clear, I was only joking about the armour thing ;o). I am actually pretty close to Jack H - he was a prof of mine at TMS.
I also worked with Kevin Hobson/Ron Ahlers at City of Glendale so I'm pretty close to the church.
Anyway, did not want to take up more of Phil's space to talk off topic. I'd be curious to hear your thought as to why CJ subbing for John was not surprising. It was earth shattering for the guys I know in the Sov. Grace churches.

P.S. please excuse my ransaking of your blog - I did could not find an email.
Heh, what a small world this is.
I know Kevin originally from his parents who attended the same church as I before we all moved to Calvary Bible.
I figured you were joking, but in these waters I wanted to make sure. ;-)
And no worries about ransacking my blog, not like I was using it. Lol!
Sorry I did not notice your comment here before. Our baby was born October 8th so instead of doing anything here I have been blogging vicariously through everyone elses efforts.
After some thought I could definetly see how C.J. filling the pulpit at Grace whole be earthshaking for many. I'm no deepthinking theologian, just a guy whose well read enough to get himself into trouble.
All the stuff I have read by Pastor MacArthur had led me to believe that someone of C.J.s character and demeanor could quite possibly be welcome in a GCC pulpit. Even with the differences he has with GCC on the isue of spiritual gifts. Similar to R.C. whom I love, but I find his comments about those who get rebaptised as believers after infant baptism as possibly being blasphemous to be more disturbing.
Perhaps I am to naive in such matters.
You should check out the last four sermons by Jack on Christian Liberties. Truly awesome!
Grace be with you brother!

Congrats
I never can get over what a woman goes thought to have a child. And the thing is that they know because of the first one and they still have another . God Bless Your Wife
Thank you
Hi,
Just wanted to pop in and tell you that I happened upon your comment at Pyro and it brought a tear to my eye, how beautiful.....how perfect a witness you and your wife have for "contentedness".
Congratulations to your beautiful family on the (fairly) new baby ~
